In commercial decoration, custom furniture, and space partitioning, HPL (High-Pressure Laminate), MDF (Medium-Density Fiberboard), and particleboard are widely used. Different types of boards have significantly different efficiency levels; selecting the right material for the specific application is crucial to balancing functionality and comfort.

The first- and the second-generation compact laminate are mostly used in commercial spaces. The second-generation compact laminate offers high cost-effectiveness, a stable substrate, and basic waterproofing and wear resistance, making it suitable for general offices, interior partitions, and conventional wall surfaces. It is the mainstream choice for economical commercial projects. The first-generation compact laminate has undergone process upgrades, resulting in higher density and significantly improved moisture resistance, impact resistance, and corrosion resistance. Its structure is less prone to deformation and delamination, making it more suitable for high-traffic, high-wear, or humid environments such as hospitals, schools, laboratories, and public restrooms.

MDF (Medium-Density Fiberboard) has a smooth and fine surface, is highly malleable, and is easy to process, shape, and decorate. It is often used for custom cabinets and decorative wall panels. However, it has poor moisture resistance and is prone to swelling and deformation when exposed to water, making it only suitable for dry indoor environments. Particleboard is made from pressed wood chips. It has a uniform structure, stable load-bearing capacity, and is affordable, making it a common base material for furniture. Its drawbacks are relatively weak bending and impact resistance, making it unsuitable for manufacturing load-bearing components.

Each type of board has its own strengths and weaknesses; there is no absolute superiority or inferiority. For high-end commercial applications, first-generation compact laminate is preferred; for general industrial projects, second-generation compact laminate is suitable; for decorative designs, MDF (Medium-density Fiberboard) is the first choice; and for residential furniture substrates, particleboard can be selected. Choosing the right board based on budget and actual needs will maximize its value.
